Make a real PS1 game. Not a retro-styled PC game - an actual PlayStation executable that boots on hardware or in pcsx-redux/duckstation emulator.
Submissions open means the jam started at that time the theme will also be revealed.
Winner will get bragging rights. I'm way too poor to offer anything of value.

Tech demo for thje first PSXSPLASH Jam, showcasing a rudamentary quick time event system. "The Lake Giveth" is a simple "game" where you simply fish and then decide if you want to harvest or free the fish you catch. The more you take from the lake, the angier it gets. Take too much and your fate is sealed. Don't get greedy and the lake tolerates. **Note** I couldn't get audio to work and I'm going abroad tomorrow so there's unfortunately no audio even tho I prepared audio clips for casting, fighting fish, ambient and the outboard motor. I don't have time to fix this. **Gameplay** Interact with the rod to cast and start fishing. You will be presented with on screen instructions with what to press. When you are finished, you can return back home by interacting with the outboard motor. **The only variable is you** You are the one that decides if you will make it home or not. After the incident, you locked yourself in the attic of the manor. It's been quiet for a while now. It's safe to leave now, right? Explore the mansion and escape. This game has 3 endings, all based on what you decide to do. DPad to move/turn, X to interact. When asked a question, use X to continue, and O to cancel. this crashes but i uploaded it anyways :( I spent more time learning the tools and fixing bugs than i planned, so unfortunately i wasn't able to finish everything i wanted to but i made something playable. I ended up loving the idea of this game so much that i decided i'm gonna revisit this and make it a full game when psxsplash has had more time to mature. Most textures were public domain taken from ambientcg.com, some sounds were from zapsplat.com

Monitor the 4 different feeds. Press the cross button to log an event. Left and right to switch feeds. I don't think this adheres to the theme anymore. Utilized sound macros, sequenced audio, alpha for the decals.

Posting our lonely island in case we don't finish our game It’s been a lot of fun exploring psxsplash so far, especially when we were able to model a terrain in Blender, texture and add details using Vertex Paint, export it very easily to Unity, and generate a build When I got to test the game running on a PlayStation, I was really excited. Thank you so much, Bandwidth and team, for this wonderful tool. We’ll definitely be participating in future game jams

IMPORTANT GAMEPLAY NOTE AT THE END He's in the middle of the desert, alone; he's looking for *someone* in some strange place, he takes actions to hide himself from robots, but we're not aware of why What or who is he looking for?, and where is everyone else?; there *are* **robots** though, and still active That ends the description, there is more to unfold here but I was not able to show anything, I ran out of time pretty badly, but I do have the basis of the story which I plan to share eventually, though not by completing this project; not because of "lost motivation", but because this was meant to be more so a game jam entry, not an ongoing project; I'm usually very busy with many other projects, this took time out of other projects I should've given way much more priority, but I really wanted to be part of this I met some nice people and it was a cool experience, although NOT fun when stumbling upon difficulties and spending hours for no progress; plus plenty of nights with no proper sleep... but it was worth it (not worth enough to go through it again though XD) In the tests (minigames), they expect certain results and tendencies from the robot model you disguised yourself as, but as a human, you're obviously not able to perfectly match those results, those pesky, noisy variables outside of the average There's so much to unpack from the untold story and behind the scenes, I have so much to share and I thank everyone for checking this out and for the dev team for developing such a cool framework Assets not made by me: Rusting Tech Wall 1.1: https://www.filterforge.com/filters/10333.html Gameplay notes: - In the lobby, you can continue the conversation by standing close to the reception; the robot won't continue talking if you wander off

Six rooms, six puzzles to solve. Solve the puzzle and enter the three-digit code to enter the next room. Horribly unfinished. Most of the textures are placeholders. Puzzle number 2 doesn't work because I didn't have time to record the sounds. (So the code is 000) Collisions with doors don't work, so you have to politely pretend you're not cheating. And honestly, I don't know what else isn't working.
